Bike Salute . com

I’ll be in Berlin from the 25th to the 27th of August. I never been there before and I don’t speak German. So far the plan for the first day (august 25th) is to take photos by the fountain with the neon bikes in Potsdamer Platz between 19:00 and 20:00. I don’t know if it is a good place, I just found it on flickr. show up and pose, I’ll be the guy with an orange shirt, a black baseball hat and a camera.

I’ll post more information about the other two days as I hopefully learn more about the bast places and times to take photos.

No one showed up and the emails I got were after I already left Berlin. Next time I should ask more in advance.

by Berlin I don’t mean the band from the late 80’s who sang the theme song in Top Gun, but the city in Germany. I’ll be there for a couple of days in late august and I plan to take some photos of bike salutes over there. Any leads to bike events will be appreciated.

The eagle has landed! There are now 1024 photos of bike salutes. I took photos outside Music Festival music festival and purposely stopped to leave 20 spots for the air ride.

The weather was not on our side on Sunday. At 5PM it looked like it was going to rain when we wanted to take a group photo from a kite there was no wind. Todd brought his trailer that has huge speakers and played DJ for the ride. I asked him if he can think of songs appropriate for the ride and he did. We stopped by sky and air related stops and made balloons animals (the air in the balloons was part of the theme). We ended the ride taking the last 8 bike salute photos along the lake path.

Today at the 1k photos ride I aim to photograph the 1024th bike salute!
here is Where I got the idea. Also having 1024 photos will allow creating a square image (32 by 32) that will have all of the bike salutes.

Judas priest and Whitesnake are still active. Why would I care about these bands? Because they will be preforming on Sunday in northerly island’s concert venue and the park maybe closed. in case the goons from LiveNation will cordon the rest of the park we will go to the baseball area in Grant park between Columbus and LSD.

This week I am going to reach the 1000 photos mark. What’s next? I am not sure. Any ideas?

To celebrate the occasion I am going to have a bike ride and a picnic by the lake on July 19th at 5PM. The theme of the ride is Air. Bring a kite if you can.

I do my best to get the right name of everyone who poses, yet sometimes I miss a name. Do you recognize any of these people? If so, please contact me so I can correctly label their photos. right now they are labeled ? ,?, jake? and mystery woman.

I programmed a memory game with the bike salute images. Every new game has 15 random images. The next step is to have a high scores table.

Part of every pride weekend is the Chicago Dyke March. This year it had a biking element to it, A group ride from Andersonville to Pilsen. I don’t know what is the exact ratio between male and female Bike Salute photos, yet I know there are more guys. This event was an opportunity to even things out a little.
